BORROWING PERIODS FOR PORTUGUESE PEOPLE VARY BY A FACTOR OF THREE DEPENDING ON THE REGION

This is the question that the O Jornal Económico in this infographic. This Portuguese newspaper, launched in 2016, shows the debt periods required to acquire a 100 m2 in different cities of Portugal, and thus points out the disparities.

In Porto, for example, it is necessary to take out a loan for more than forty-five years to become owner of this size, while prices drop dramatically inland. In Castelo Branco, you'll need to take out a 15-year mortgage to become a homeowner.
