Self-employed entrepreneurs in Portugal must submit, by the end of July, their quarterly declarations showing income earned in April, May and June of this year. These values are used to calculate the social contributions payable for July, August and September 2020.
When you submit your quarterly tax return, self-employed entrepreneurs receive notification in their inbox of the tax base they have been assigned for the following months.
Social Security also reminds us that financial aid received for the reduction in economic activity do not need to be reported in the quarterly return, and only income invoiced and received needs to be declared.
Financial assistance received for exceptional family support is reported in the quarterly statement as a service.
