&NewLine;<h2 class="wp-block-heading">RNH status for retirees is changing</h2>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>At the time of writing, the foreign press is announcing the end of RNH status for <strong>retired</strong>When is it really &excl; </p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<h3 class="wp-block-heading">These are just rumours </h3>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>For the time being, these are just <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><a aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)" rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.publico.pt/2018/09/03/economia/noticia/be-propoe-fim-do-regime-dos-residentes-naohabituais-ja-em-2019-1842791" target="_blank" class="rank-math-link">rumors</a></strong>&comma;</span> the government to announce at the end of 2019 is studying the possibility of making<strong> <a href="https://vivreauportugalconsulting.com/fin-du-rnh-pour-les-retraites/" class="rank-math-link"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">RNH status for retirees</span></a></strong>as it does for the <strong><a href="https://vivreauportugalconsulting.com/rnh-liste-des-activites/" class="rank-math-link"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">asset status</span></a></strong> end 2019&period; </p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What the rumors say</h3>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The government is reportedly studying the possibility of introducing a &lpar;IRS&rpar; minimum tax for foreign pensioners&comma; this would be around <strong>10&nbsp&semi;&percnt; </strong>or a minimum of 7500&comma;00&nbsp&semi;€&sol;an&comma; you can see that this is not very clear.</p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>knowing that the first tax bracket in Portugal starts at €7,000&comma;00&nbsp&semi;annual income&period; </p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>What will become of the tax treaty between France and Portugal, for example? </p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Will the status of non-habitual resident change? </h3>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Fundamentally YES, the RNH will evolve&comma; it has existed since 2009 and has never been modified&comma; this tax advantage is starting to upset the Portuguese and certain political parties&comma; for the moment no one knows whether the government will introduce a minimum tax or new conditions for obtaining it&period; those who tell you otherwise have a crystal ball&period; </p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<hr class="wp-block-separator"/>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The&nbsp&semi;2020 budget is still being negotiated before the assembly and is not expected to be voted on until the end of January or the beginning of February&period; On this subject the government has already fallen well behind schedule and these views rejected its first budget &lpar;in October&rpar; by Brussels&period; </p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Of course&comma; we are following this subject and the debates currently taking place in the assembly very closely&comma; we will keep you informed of any changes to non-habitual resident status for pensioners&period; </p>&NewLine;
